How much does general pest control cost?
General pest control targets ants, cockroaches (Australian and American), spiders and silverfish using APVMA-approved insecticides applied to exterior walls, eaves, roof voids, wall cavities and internal skirting boards. Every service includes a 12-month limited warranty — if covered pests return within the year, so do we.
Treatments remain effective for 3 to 6 months externally and 6 to 12 months internally. The 12-month warranty covers the period when new pest colonies may attempt to re-infest, and allows up to 4 weeks for the treatment to take full effect (normal for ant management).
The standard general pest service covers American and Australian cockroaches, black house ants, redback and black house spiders, daddy-long-legs, and silverfish. It does not cover German cockroaches, fleas, ticks, rats, mice, wasps, fire ants, coastal brown ants, funnel ants, huntsman spiders, wolf spiders, white-tailed spiders, or most garden insects. What's the difference between services — and which do you need?
I have cockroaches. Which service is right?
It depends on the species. Australian and American cockroaches (large, reddish-brown) are covered under the standard general pest control service from $285 for a house, with a 12-month warranty. German cockroaches (small, pale brown, typically found in kitchens and bathrooms) require a separate, specialised service starting at $360 for the first treatment. German cockroach control requires two visits 14 days apart for effective management and carries no warranty due to the high risk of reinfestation without strict hygiene between visits.

I have ants everywhere. Is that covered in general pest?
Black house ants are included in the general pest service. However, several common Queensland ant species are excluded: coastal brown ants, garden ants, meat ants, funnel ants, carpenter ants, and fire ants each require specific treatment approaches and are not covered under general pest pricing. If you have ants but aren't sure of the species, contact us before booking so we can direct you to the right service.
I have spiders. What's covered?
The general pest service covers redback spiders, black house spiders and daddy-long-legs — the species most commonly found in eaves, corners and outdoor structures. Huntsman spiders, wolf spiders, white-tailed spiders, jumping spiders and garden orb spiders are not covered under general pest. In practice, a general pest treatment often reduces the food source (insects) that attracts larger hunting spiders, which can reduce their presence over time even though they're not directly targeted.
I have fleas. Do I need the internal or external service?
If your pets spend time both indoors and outdoors, the external plus internal service (from $360) is recommended. Flea larvae and pupae concentrate where pets rest — often in carpets, bedding areas and under-deck soil. Treating indoors only leaves the outdoor source untreated, and fleas will re-enter the home. Before the service, treat all pets with an APVMA-approved flea product and vacuum all floors. Flea pupae are highly resilient and can survive for months, so multiple treatments may be necessary for severe infestations — this is why no warranty is provided.
What does the general pest 12-month warranty actually cover?
The warranty covers the pests included in the service — American and Australian cockroaches, black house ants, redback and black house spiders, daddy-long-legs, and silverfish. If any of these pests return within 12 months of treatment, Jets Pest Control will return at no charge. The warranty allows up to 4 weeks for the treatment to take full effect (common with ant management, where bait transfer through the colony takes time). It does not cover excluded species, pest species not mentioned at the time of booking, or infestations arising from conditions created after treatment (for example, building work that opens new entry points).
Is it cheaper to bundle services?
Yes, for one specific combination: booking a visual termite inspection at the same time as a general pest service earns a 10% discount on the termite inspection. Other bundling is not currently discounted, but the 10% Seniors, Pensioner and ADF discount applies across all services and can be combined with the same-day inspection discount. Why do pest control prices vary between companies?
Pest control is easy to underprice. A cheaper quote can reflect a shorter visit time, a lower product volume, products with shorter residual life, or a smaller treatment zone. It can also reflect unlicensed or improperly insured operators, which is a legal issue in Queensland where QBCC licensing is required for pest management work.
Jets Pest Control publishes fixed prices publicly because we think you should know what you're paying before you pick up the phone. The price you see on the pricing page is the price you pay — no call-out fees, no extras added on the day, no negotiating.
