Regular Visual Termite Inspections AS 3660.2 (Residential)
Inspection Overview
Our termite inspections follow Australian Standard AS 3660.2:2017 (Termite management in and around buildings and structures). Each inspection includes a visual assessment and a detailed written report, which is completed off-site, thoroughly reviewed, and emailed overnight.
Inspection Frequency
Regular inspections are essential for termite management and should never be more than 12 months apart.
In high-risk areas, the Standard recommends inspections every 3 to 6 months.
Before installing a chemical termite management system, a regular inspection is required.
After installation, annual termite inspections are required for the life of the treatment to maintain Termidor warranty coverage (at intervals not exceeding 12 months).
Inspection Methods
We use advanced non-invasive technologies to detect potential issues not visible to the naked eye, including:
FLIR thermal imaging cameras
Termatrac radar technology
Tramex moisture meters
Important Notes
These are comprehensive inspections performed in line with AS 3660.2.
No warranty or service guarantee is provided with regular visual termite inspections. Termites may still be active in areas not accessible during inspection.
10% discount is available for Seniors, Pensioners, and Australian Defence Force (ADF) members (serving and retired). Discounts apply to the principal place of residence, including tenants in rental properties. Discounts do not apply to investment properties. One discount per visit applies.
Disclaimer
This is a regular visual termite inspection under AS 3660.2. It is not:
A timber pest inspection (AS 4349.3)
An invasive or special-purpose inspection
A pre-purchase building and pest inspection
We are not builders or building inspectors.
Termite Treatments
Treatment Overview
Termite treatments are tailored to the species, extent, and location of the infestation. Our licensed technicians assess each situation on-site and apply the most appropriate method. No warranty applies to termite treatments — success depends on access, colony behaviour, and infestation severity.
Treatment Options
TT1 — Termite Nests Direct Injection (Ground Mounds & Arboreal Nests): Liquid termiticide is injected directly into ground or arboreal nests up to 3 metres high. Minimum charge $260 includes up to 10L; additional chemical $75 per 10L.
TT2 — Spot Treatment to Termite Damage & Workings (Mudding & Shelter Tubes): Localised treatment of mud leads, shelter tubes, stumps, fences, and loose timbers. Kills activity in treated areas but does not eliminate the entire colony. Minimum charge $260 includes up to 10L; additional chemical $75 per 10L.
TT3 — Termite Eradication (Foaming & Dusting Treatments): Comprehensive foaming or dusting treatments to eradicate termites from a structure. A follow-up visit is required within 14–28 days. Starts at $760.
TT4 — Termite Eradication (Baiting Program): Fixed fee $2,000. Chitin synthesis inhibitor bait disrupts moulting and spreads through the colony. Fortnightly visits for 8–12 weeks with re-baiting included.
TT5 — Termite Treatment — Power Poles (Privately Owned): $350 per pole. 20 litres of liquid termiticide applied — 10L injected under pressure and 10L to soil around the base. Preschem Polesaver rods inserted into the drilled cavity. Chemical application record with photos provided.
Rodent Control (Rats & Mice)
Treatment Overview
We use APVMA-approved rodenticides placed securely inside tamper-resistant rodent and mouse stations. Our primary bait is a highly effective, non-anticoagulant rodenticide containing Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol), chosen for its high palatability and shorter baiting periods. This provides rapid control of both rat and mouse infestations. Anticoagulant baits, such as Muskil® Rodenticide Blocks (Bromadiolone and Difenacoum) and Contrac® Blox (Bromadiolone), may also be used where appropriate, depending on the infestation and technician assessment.
Treatment Areas
Rats: Stations are positioned around the house perimeter, roof voids, garages, sheds, and pool areas. Common placements include near hot water systems, outdoor air conditioning units, open sewer or stormwater drains, and downpipes.
Mice: Stations are installed in roof voids, garages, kitchens, laundries, cupboards, wardrobes, furniture, drawers, and cabinets.
Warranty
We provide a one-month warranty, conditional on installing the number of stations recommended by our pest management technician.
Important Facts
Time to Effect: Rats and mice typically die within 2–4 days of consuming Vitamin D bait. Rats may initially avoid bait stations for 5–7 days due to natural neophobia (fear of new objects). Readily available food sources, such as pet food, may delay bait effectiveness.
Mode of Action: Vitamin D baits are single-feed, fatal-feed rodenticides. They stop rodents from feeding further after ingestion by causing calcification of body tissues and organs, leading to heart and renal failure. Anticoagulants, in contrast, cause death by internal bleeding.
Pet Safety: No rodent bait is completely “pet safe.” While some have a lower risk, all rodenticides are hazardous if directly accessed. Safe placement and label compliance are essential. Service will not proceed if safe application conditions cannot be met.
Secondary Poisoning Risk: Vitamin D rodenticides do not bioaccumulate, reducing the risk to predators and scavengers. Anticoagulants can bioaccumulate and pose higher secondary risks.
Antidotes: Anticoagulant poisoning can be treated with Vitamin K1. There is no antidote for Vitamin D rodenticides, and any suspected poisoning requires immediate veterinary care.
Exclusion Recommendations: We recommend physically proofing your property to prevent rodent entry. Measures include installing gutter guards, garage door seals (top, side, and bottom), internal access seals, weep-hole protectors, vermin-proofing roof sheeting and tiles, and sealing holes in cladding and brickwork.
Paper Wasp and Bee Control
Key Information
Wasp and Bee Repellence
Our treatments do not repel wasps or bees. They are a targeted search, find, and destroy process. Wasps and bees must come into contact with treated surfaces for the treatment to be effective.
Paper Wasps
Paper wasps select nesting sites based on safe harbourage and food sources. Treatments will not prevent future infestations. Nests located high in trees, over waterways, or on Council or Crown land cannot be treated by us. Yellow-brown paper wasps often build large nests high on buildings or trees, sometimes over 10 metres above ground.
Mud Wasps
Mud wasps, including Mud Daubers and Potter Wasps, build nests and cocoons on exterior walls, inside wall cavities, and in roof voids. While rarely aggressive, their large size can cause alarm. Treatment involves directly spraying active wasps, while mud nests can be safely removed once inactive. Mud wasps also play a role as natural pest controllers, paralysing spiders to store in their nests.
Bees
Bee colonies are treated after dark, as bees cannot fly at night but can still crawl. Night treatments ensure safety for technicians and occupants. We strongly recommend contacting a local beekeeper for safe removal whenever possible. If relocation is not feasible, extermination will proceed. Preventative measures include installing weep hole protector screens and sealing external entry points.
German Cockroach Control
Important Considerations
A single female German cockroach and her offspring can produce over 300,000 cockroaches in just one year. This rapid reproduction makes it critical to act quickly to prevent infestations from becoming unmanageable.
Warranty
No warranty applies due to the high risk of reinfestation. Successful treatment depends on strict housekeeping, hygiene, and sanitation practices being maintained by occupants.
Discounts
10% discount is available for Seniors, Pensioners, and Australian Defence Force (ADF) members (serving and retired). Discounts apply to the principal place of residence, including tenants in rental properties. Discounts do not apply to investment properties. One discount per visit applies.
Important Questions
When did you first start noticing German cockroaches? (Early detection helps us assess infestation severity.)
Do you see cockroaches during the day? (Daytime activity indicates a severe infestation.)
Is anyone in the household sick, allergic, or sensitive to insecticides? (We adjust treatments for safety.)
Treatment Process
Pre-Treatment Cleaning: Occupants must vacuum and clean thoroughly before treatment. Food preparation surfaces, cookware, and utensils must be cleaned before and after use.
Preparation: All occupants and pets must vacate the property during treatment and remain away for at least 4 hours. Do not mop for 2 days after service.
Inspection: We assess infestation extent and identify key harbour areas.
Insecticide Application: A non-repellent insecticide is applied to skirting boards, cracks, and crevices, allowing transfer throughout the colony.
Insect Growth Regulator (IGR): Disrupts cockroach life cycles to prevent nymphs maturing into adults.
Baiting: High-quality bait is placed in high-activity areas, consumed, and spread among colonies.
Pheromone Traps: Non-toxic adhesive traps are installed to monitor infestation and reduce numbers.
Hygiene and Sanitation: We provide tailored advice to help prevent re-infestation.
Flea Control
Treatment Overview
Our flea control service targets fleas at all life stages, using APVMA-approved products to disrupt breeding cycles and reduce populations inside and outside the home.
Treatment Process
Internal: Residual insecticide + IGR applied to carpets, rugs, skirting boards, and harbourage sites.
External: Yard and subfloor areas treated with insecticide. Effectiveness typically lasts up to 30 days (weather-dependent).
Client Responsibilities
Treat all pets with an APVMA-approved flea product.
Vacuum floors and carpets regularly.
Wash bedding (pets and people) in hot water.
Maintain hygiene and adopt Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
Red Imported Fire Ant Control
Treatment Overview
Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFA) are an invasive species that pose major risks to public health, the environment, and property. They deliver painful stings, trigger allergic reactions, and damage crops, lawns, and even electrical equipment. Jets Pest Control provides professional fire ant treatments to target and eliminate colonies quickly and safely.
Treatment Plan
Inspection: Full property assessment to locate nests and gauge infestation severity.
Direct Nest Injections: Application of Fipronil under APVMA Permit PER14770. Around 10L of solution is injected per nest to ensure colony elimination.
Follow-Up Treatments: May be required for full eradication; all mixing and application rates follow legal compliance in Queensland.
Reporting & Compliance: We complete mandatory reporting to Biosecurity Queensland, and a chemical application record with photos is emailed to the customer.
Key Benefits
Effective & Targeted: Direct nest injections eliminate entire colonies.
Safe & Compliant: Treatments use APVMA-approved Fipronil, applied according to strict guidelines.
Experienced Team: Trained, licensed technicians with expertise in invasive pest management.
Timber Pest Inspections AS 4349.3 (Residential)
